ECW ~~Episcopal Church Women

Mission Statement:

We, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) join together to give spiritual and financial support to the membership of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Healdsburg, California. We meet in fellowship to communicate and coordinate projects that meet the needs of our church community. Through this fellowship we, as women of St. Paul’s, grow stronger in our love for one another and our service as women. Through this service, we show Christ’s love to others in our community.

Meetings:

ECW is open to all of the women of St. Paul’s. The monthly meeting is usually in the parish hall at 12:30 on the second Thursday of the month, although it sometimes changes to a member’s home or the third Thursday. Those planning to attend are asked to “r.s.v.p.” to the church office by the Tuesday ahead so that the month’s hostesses know how many will be coming for the light lunch.

Next meeting:  RSVP to 707-433-2107 by Tuesday, June 14th.

ECW  Rainy Day Readers Book Club

ECW Book for August will be:   The Woman Behind the Collar: The Pioneering Journey of an Episcopal Priest, by Joy Carroll Wallis, one of the first female priests in England. It's out of print and not yet in digital form. Ellen has six used copies on their way that we can circulate among the readers. They will be about $7.00 each.

ECW Book for June 29th:  A Tale for the Time Being, by Ruth Ozeki. Linda Maxwell hosted us at her house for our discussion. We discovered a lot of differences between the Japanese and American cultures that account for the ways that we communicate with each other, and within families.

ECW Book for April:   Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin. We had an enjoyable evening discussing the book at the home of Colleen Householder.
Jan 27, 2015 Invention of Wings
We had a very interesting and fun discussion of this book and how it relates to our history and our present day lives.
